The knife is one of our absolute oldest tools, a tool almost everyone uses every single day. Its history stretches so far back that sharpened stones were used for cutting. Luckily, a lot has happened since the Stone Age, both in design and material. Broadly speaking, there are two types of knives: folding knives and fixed blade knives. Both of these have advantages as well as disadvantages, all depending on what you intend to use your knife for.
