For years, we have provided Sweden with a truly excellent, handpicked assortment of proven gear from well-known brands.

The start in 2009

You've probably read and heard about many of those mini-businesses that started in a garage or basement storage. Two empty hands, 20 kronor in their pocket, and nothing but impressive stubbornness. Add a shaky internet connection to boast about... yep, Slims.se is no exception!

The whole story began in a tiny one-room apartment in Vetlanda. The year was 2009, and the webshop Slims.se saw the light of day on a bleak but very fun autumn day!
At that time, we were pioneers in selling unique, handpicked curiosities and antiques online. My interest in old and unusual things has been with me for as long as I can remember. So, there was no doubt that this interest would lead to a webshop.
Back then, we quickly made a name for ourselves under the now well-known but retired slogan:
"Slims.se - It was better before!"

The relaunch in 2019

The idea of opening another store had been around for many years, a store focusing on EDC (Every Day Carry), which is another big interest that has always been with me. But time was scarce alongside my then regular job, and the plans had to be put on hold. However, life takes its turns, and suddenly an opportunity arose. In April 2019, the time had finally come; the name was kept, but the store got a new direction. Since then, Slims.se has been a lifestyle store focusing on EDC and outdoor. We sell well-known, high-quality products for both the forest and the urban individual who wants a safe and comfortable everyday life in uncomfortable situations.

Even though the product range took a completely new direction in 2019, the concept is in many ways exactly the same as when we started in 2009.

  We love what we do, and we want to pass on a piece of that passion in everything we do.

Environment and reuse

Environment and reuse have always been close to our hearts and something we strive for. So, just like when we started 13 years ago, we largely use recycled packaging material when shipping our packages. Those expecting a fancy new package with our logo might be a little disappointed... but nature will be happy, and we hope our customers will be too.
We also wish that you would pass on our environmental thinking by using the packaging material when you send something yourself. Air cushions and bubble wrap basically last forever! But when the material can no longer serve its protective purpose, it should be sent for recycling.

Who runs the store?

Slims.se is a Swedish store with its own warehouse, located as far south in Sweden as you can get - Trelleborg!
The company is owned and operated by me, Mats Vikell. By my side is my rock of a wife - Pernilla.
Then we have a lively little helper who pops up on the Instagram feed regularly - Louvin!
Louvin is our shop dog! A Griffon Petit Brabancon who makes sure to keep the mood and exercise level absolutely top-notch.
He got his name from one of our favorite bands, the country legends Charles and Ira Louvin - The Louvin Brothers!

And the name Slims.se?

And the name Slims.se?
Well, it's a long story about being a tall, slender man who chose a narrow and thorny path... most stories, as you know, are best told in person. As long as there's coffee and Budapest pastry (and no huge pile of packages waiting to be sent), I'd be more than happy to tell the story of SLIMS.SE to anyone who wants to and has some time to spare!

The most important thing, however, is to understand that the entire website address is the company name:
