At one end is a carbide glass breaker – used to quickly get in or out of a dangerous situation like a car accident. If you unscrew the tip, there is a small compartment where you can store tinder dry, e.g. cotton with Vaseline or steel wool.

Fire starter in the middle

The fire starter is in the middle and is used to light a fire or a camping stove. Also works in wet and windy conditions.

Striker and whistle

The last part is a combo tool – partly a striker to strike against the fire steel and generate sparks, and partly a whistle to attract attention. A whistle can be heard over long distances and significantly increases the chances of getting help. All in all, the SOG Flint is a fantastic solution to many problems that can arise!
