SK5 carbon steel blade that develops a personal patina

The blade is made of SK5 carbon steel. This steel can be sharpened to a very keen edge, and the blade is very sharp even when the knife comes from the factory. As it is a carbon steel, it develops a unique and personal patina over time and with use. You could call it a living material that tells your story. Storing something made of carbon steel is slightly more demanding than stainless steel, although of course you should responsibly care for all your metals. Store it dry and oil the blade if the knife is to be stored in a humid environment.

The blade is deployed by pushing back the protruding lever, which also functions as a thumb rest during use for safer and more controlled work.

The handle is made from a single piece of stainless steel, which has been folded and stamped with their logo in the traditional Higonokami style. It has then been polished to achieve a shiny surface. However, the surface is not mirror-smooth; like all these knives, it bears more or less traces of manufacturing – exactly as it should be!
