HIGONOKAMI
Many countries have their signature brand or brands when it comes to knives. When talking about knives from Japan, Higonokami is probably the brand that most people can agree they've heard of.
Higonokami - 140 years of knife tradition
The production of folding knives has been active for more or less 140 years. Sometime during the 1880s, knife production began in Hirata, Miki City, and the rest, as they say, is knife history!
At that time, 5-8 knives were made per day; each knife was made from scratch and by hand.
Materials and craftsmanship
The materials used were carbon steel for the blades and brass for the handles.
These are two materials that many of Higonokami's iconic pocket knives still have today, although production has now transitioned to machines.
