Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Salt SpyderEdge Hawkbill Blade, a truly sharp knife made from extremely rust-resistant H2 steel - manufactured in Japan!

The model is a real favorite and a Spyderco classic, but here it has slightly different characteristics than a regular Dragonfly. This is a knife for when the surrounding elements and weather conditions are very demanding and you want something extremely sharp!

The Dragonfly model is incredibly popular, its truly well-thought-out design means that this seemingly small folding knife feels as good in the hand as if it were a couple of sizes larger. Its size makes it an EDC knife suitable for more or less everything. However, this particular variant is a bit more specific than just being able to handle everything; it has two features that the standard model does not. As with all knives in the SALT series, the Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Salt also features a blade made of the highly rust-resistant H2 steel. This allows you to use your knife in and around water, both saltwater and freshwater.

Hawkbill

Hawkbill is the name for the curved blade shape.
The edge is serrated and is called SpyderEdge in Spyderco terminology, and together with the shape, this is a very effective knife for cutting ropes, lines, and hawse. To say that this knife is sharp is an understatement; we actually issue a friendly but firm warning - IT IS EXTREMELY SHARP!

One-hand opening, back lock, and FRN handle

The knife opens easily with one hand using its ambidextrous thumb hole, making it suitable for both right-handed and left-handed users. The same applies to the locking mechanism, regardless of which hand is used. When open, the blade is secured with a back lock on the spine. The blade has jimping on the spine, which is useful as it provides extra grip when working. This is especially useful when wearing gloves.

The handles are made of FRN (fiber reinforced nylon) composite material, which is simply fiberglass-reinforced nylon. FRN is very lightweight and very durable! The knife has a lightweight wire clip that is very smooth to attach and remove from the pocket opening. The clip can be moved between the right and left sides, a much-appreciated option.

The knife has a hole for those who want to attach a lanyard or safety line. Using the latter is wise if you use it on a boat where there is a risk of it falling overboard.
