Shemagh

Shemagh, shemag, yasmak, keffiyeh, ghutrah, hattah, mashadah, Palestinian scarf... a beloved child, as they say, has many names! Depending on where you are in the world, this classic garment has slightly different names – but all refer to the same item, what people colloquially simply call a scarf! A shemagh is a traditional Middle Eastern headscarf, an ancient garment designed to protect the wearer from the elements in both scorching deserts and chilly mountain regions. The shemagh keeps you warm in winter and protects against the sun and heat in summer. The scarf is used by several military units worldwide – in truly harsh environments where it protects the face and neck against changeable weather conditions, temperatures, blowing dust and sand.

The shemagh is an easy-to-use garment that weighs little and takes up minimal space, but offers many possibilities and high comfort.
